Reports suggest that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are once again exploring the possibility of returning to royal life in a limited capacity, hoping to balance official duties with their life and professional commitments in the United States.
According to sources, the couple believe they could successfully manage a part-time royal role while maintaining their independence abroad — an arrangement similar to what was discussed before their departure from senior royal duties in 2020.
However, insiders claim that senior members of the Royal Family, including King Charles III and Prince William, are not open to revisiting the idea. The so-called “half-in, half-out” model was firmly rejected at the Sandringham Summit, with the late Queen Elizabeth II making clear that working royals must commit fully to their roles.
Royal commentators say the monarchy has since streamlined its structure, focusing on a smaller group of senior working royals, and there are reportedly no plans to alter that direction. Some experts argue that Harry may still struggle with fully accepting the long-term implications of stepping back from official duties.
While speculation continues, no formal discussions or confirmed negotiations about a return have been publicly acknowledged by Buckingham Palace.
